How Do I Estimate My Property Taxes?

Add up the tax rate of each taxing authority. (For example, Denton County + City of Frisco + Frisco ISD). Multiply this percentage rate by the assessed property value to obtain your annual tax obligation. For example: A home with an assessed value of $500,000 in Frisco ISD/Denton County can expect to pay approximately $788.95/month for property taxes. (1.2129 + 0.233986 + 0.446600 = 1.893486% * $500,000 = $9,467.43 Annually. Divide by 12 to get the monthly rate of $788.95.) Rates vary depending on school system and county. Additionally, one should verify whether or not additional utility district taxes, public improvement district taxes, or community college taxes apply to the homes you are considering.
